Catahoula Cur

An American breed, the Catahoula Cur originated in the state of Louisiana. Highly intelligent and energetic, the Catahoula Cur is assertive but not aggressive by nature. A good family dog, the breed does not do well with isolation and requires daily interaction. Standing 20-26" at the shoulder and weighing 40-90lbs, the Catahoula Cur comes in many colours; including red leopard, blue leopard, black, black leopard, gray, silver leopard, tri-colour, quad-colour and patchwork. The coat can be slick, coarse or woolly. Common health issues with the Catahoula Cur include hip dysplasia and deafness, though often breeders will euthanize a deaf puppy.
